Apple Watch Series 11 Review: Superb Wrist Gestures with Extended Battery Performance

Our most recent Apple Watch Series Eleven brings the one thing most people actually want from their wrist gadget: longer battery life.

Apart from that, the new model serves as an immediate successor from the previous model, keeping pace in appearance, proportions and capabilities, with many of enhancements derived from the operating system.

This new model is also more affordable by ÂĢ30 for UK customers, priced starting at ÂĢ369 (449 euros/$399 USD/A$679), and sits above the recently updated ÂĢ219 Watch SE at the low end alongside the ÂĢ749 Ultra 3 for top-tier users.

Build and Interface

Similar to the previous Series 10, the latest iteration comes in at 9.7mm thick, resulting in a slim fit on your arm, simple to slide beneath shirt sleeves plus more pleasant at night.

Featuring a 2,000nit display remains sufficiently luminous for reading inside and outside, remaining clear to read off-angle, which makes glancing down for timekeeping or notifications easy.

Protecting the display with glass that is twice as scratch resistant as before, although not as hard of sapphire crystal, that remains exclusive with the higher-end titanium versions.

Performance and Battery

The updated wearable features identical S10 processor as last year's model while adding support for 5G connectivity option and improved connectivity when you're exploring remote areas.

Power cells have increased in storage approximately 10 percent with the smaller and 46mm watches in that order.

Larger model managed an impressive two full days in our assessment including sleep monitoring excluding workout sessions.

Typical wearers should approximately monitor 48 hours including sleep prior to requiring power, which takes just over an hour employing 20W or more powerful adapter (not included), achieving around 70 percent in half an hour.

If you do go out for a run, it will last about eight hours for monitoring, adequate time for endurance events or extended activities.

watchOS 26 Features

The latest device includes watchOS 26, compatible with each iteration starting from Series 6 and subsequent.

This includes Apple's new Liquid Glass design, which makes display features semi-translucent, plus introducing additional display styles: a large digital face titled Flow sensitive to gestures and traditional watch face called Exactograph, that separates chronological elements as separate indicators.

The standout addition involves wrist movements, requiring swift turning your hand backward and then back to exit screens and go back to the main interface.

This functions without looking at the device to view the screen, meaning you can stop notifications with a satisfying flick of the wrist.

Health and Fitness Tracking

The Apple Watch incorporates an extensive wellness tracking package of features found in earlier versions but adds some additional functions and revamped exercise application.

Hypertension alerts monitor indicators of high blood pressure over a 30-day period, notifying you to seek medical advice if cardiac metrics shows possibility of underlying conditions.

Updated sleep scoring enhances rest analysis simpler to understand, comparable to rivals from multiple companies.

Daily upon waking the device displays a numerical rating divided into categories into three categories: sleep length, timing and disturbances, which are all easy to understand and available through the wellness application on your smartphone too.

Workout buddy is an AI coach that uses your previous workout data to give you motivational messages during fitness activities, such as recognising that you have already run regular activity patterns and exertion levels you achieved.

Also featuring audible heads-up when you reach particular goals during exercise, such as a particular pace, pulse rate, distance, period or other metrics.

Users can select among three vocal styles, which speak to you through connected audio connected to your watch across twelve exercise types, like strolling, sprinting or cycling.

Unfortunately, functionality requires when you bring along your iPhone 15 Pro or later alongside, which I found irritating prompting abandonment of the feature preventing inconvenience carrying mobile devices.
